This past weekend I competed at my favorite local competition of the year, Thrash and Dangle Fest. Thrash is held at the Phoenix Rock Gym in Tempe every April and is always a comp to remember.

The comp is set up as a three hour redpoint, with your top 5 problems being scored. There are also fun events, such as climbing blind folded, climbing on spinners, obstacle courses, climbing in oven mitts, etc.

The setting was awesome as usual, there were so many unique problems and hard moves. I had a great time competing and am still sore today! I also won the competition, which was a great accomplishment.

I also won the team climb competition with one of my climbing friends, Pat. We enter every year and it’s basically like a three legged race, except your hands are tied together. It was a little difficult to get our coordination down, but we eventually won with a time of 11

seconds!

I’ve also posted the video to YouTube, click here to view.

Next on the agenda is the World Cup in Vail, it’s the first weekend of June. I am so excited for this! More updates soon!
